Turn spreadsheets into printable PDF tables

Spreadsheets are great for working with numbers but awkward to share: recipients may not have Excel, columns get cut off when printing and it is easy to change a value by accident. This Excel to PDF converter reads a worksheet and lays it out as a tidy table on A4 pages, ready to email, print or archive. It handles modern .xlsx workbooks, legacy .xls files, OpenDocument spreadsheets and plain .csv exports.

Everything happens locally. The workbook is parsed in your browser, the preview is built on your device and the PDF is generated without contacting any server, so price lists, payroll exports, inventories and customer lists stay private.

How the table is laid out

The converter uses the values exactly as they are formatted in the sheet, so dates, currencies and percentages look the way you set them up. Each column gets a width based on its longest entry; if the table is wider than the page, all columns are scaled down proportionally and overly long cells are shortened with an ellipsis. Numbers are right-aligned for easy reading, and empty trailing rows and columns are dropped automatically. When “first row is a header” is enabled, the header is shaded and repeated at the top of every page, and each page gets a footer with the sheet name and page number.

Getting a readable result

Landscape orientation fits about 40% more columns than portrait, and lowering the font size from 9 to 7 points adds even more room. If a sheet is still too wide, hide or delete columns you do not need in your spreadsheet app and convert again. Workbooks with several sheets let you choose which one to export. Text in the Latin alphabet is written as real PDF text; sheets containing Cyrillic, Greek, Asian or other scripts are drawn with your system fonts and embedded as images so every character displays correctly. Formulas, charts, cell colors and merged cells are not reproduced — the goal is a clean, legible data table rather than an exact copy of the spreadsheet window.

Frequently asked questions

Is my spreadsheet uploaded?
No. The file is read and the PDF is drawn entirely in your browser. Your data never leaves your device.
Which file types are supported?
Excel .xlsx, .xlsm and older .xls files, OpenDocument .ods spreadsheets and plain .csv files. Password-protected workbooks cannot be opened.
What happens with very wide sheets?
Columns are scaled down to fit the page width and long cell values are shortened with an ellipsis. Use landscape orientation and a smaller font size for wide tables. Up to 100 columns are included.
Are formulas, charts and cell colors kept?
The PDF shows the calculated, formatted cell values as a clean table. Formulas themselves, charts, images, merged-cell layouts and cell colors are not reproduced.
Does it work with Cyrillic or other non-Latin text?
Yes. When the sheet contains characters outside the Latin alphabet, pages are drawn with your system fonts and embedded as images so every character displays correctly.
