Fill PDF Forms Online
Open a PDF with form fields, fill them in your browser and download a flattened copy. Private, free and no uploads.
🔒 Runs entirely in your browser — nothing is uploadedFill in a PDF form without uploading it
Interactive PDF forms show up everywhere: tax documents, job applications, school enrolment packets, rental agreements, medical intake sheets and government paperwork. This fill PDF forms tool reads the fillable fields inside a PDF and builds a matching input for each one, right in your browser. You type the answers, choose whether to flatten the result and download a completed copy. The document and everything you type stay on your device, which matters for forms that contain names, addresses, identity numbers or financial details.
The tool uses pdf-lib's form API. It calls getForm() and reads every field with
getFields(), then renders a text box, checkbox, dropdown or radio group depending on
the field type. When you download, the answers are written back into the PDF. Because no server is
involved, you avoid upload time, account requirements and the privacy risk of sending sensitive
paperwork to a remote service.
Flatten or keep fields editable
Flattening bakes your answers into the page content so they appear identically in every PDF viewer and can no longer be changed as form fields. That is ideal when you are submitting a final copy and do not want the recipient to alter the values. Leave flattening off when you would like the form to remain editable, for example to revisit and update an answer later. Either way the visible result reflects what you typed before downloading.
Tips for reliable results
Make sure the file still contains real AcroForm fields; scanned forms that are only pictures of a page have nothing to fill and need a tool that adds text or a signature instead. Some forms use required fields, formatting rules or calculations defined inside the PDF; this tool writes plain values and does not run document scripts. After downloading, open the completed PDF and confirm that every field shows the expected text, that checkboxes are in the right state and that long answers are not cut off before you send the form on.
